Llamau is an Accredited Support Provider with the Welsh Assembly Government.
Jane Davidson, Welsh Assembly Minister for Lifelong Learning has publicly praised Llamau for its unique and innovative approach in meeting the social inclusion agenda.
In June 2006 Llamau was named the winner of the Children & Youth Category of the Charity Awards 2006. The charity awards recognise and celebrate excellence in the leadership and management of charities, highlighting good practice across the sector. They draw attention to the talent and expertise being brought to bear on voluntary activity in the UK.
Llamau's Women's Services KickStart Project was awarded the Shelter Cymru Val Feld Women & Homelessness award at Shelter's 25th Birthday Conference in Swansea at the end of June 2006. The award is presented annually to an initiative that addresses the issues surrounding women and homelessness, a cause to which Val herself had a lifelong commitment.
Our JIGSO and HOPs services have been awarded the Community Legal Service Quality Mark.
Our Learning for Life (L4L) programme is working towards the Basic Skills Agency Quality Mark.
In 2002 L4L was awarded the Most Valued Partner Award by Career Wales for its work in meeting the social inclusion agenda.
We are currently working towards Investor in People.
The L4L programme was initially funded (1999-2003) by the Diana, Princess of Wales, Memorial Fund and became noted for its innovation and potential national importance.
In 2001 the L4L programme was highlighted as an ‘innovative new model of provision’ by a MSc Housing student at Cardiff University in a thesis entitled ‘Social Inclusion – Myth or Reality?’
